From June 20th to June 23rd, MPIF hosted the AMPM 2021, Powder Met 2021, and Tungsten 2021 conferences, concurrently, in Orlando, Florida.

Loewy Institute graduate researcher and PhD candidate Michael Pires attended the conference, presenting his and his colleagues’ work. The title of Michael’s presentation and accompanying manuscript was “Investigation of Powder Bed Laser Fusion of Tungsten Heavy Alloys”, and was based on the Master’s thesis and research of Loewy Institute alumnus graduate researcher Tzung-Shin Guo.

Co-authors of the manuscript include Loewy Institute alumni Bartlomiej Bancewicz and Tyler Christ, as well as current Loewy Institute researchers Trevor Verdonik, Michael Pires, Nicholas Rockwell, and Loewy Institute Director, Professor Wojciech Misiolek.
