Loewy Institute and University of Aveiro Researchers’ Article “Hot Forging Die Design Optimization Using FEM Analysis for Near-Net Forming of 18CrNiMo7-6 Steel Pinion Shaft” Published in Metals 13(4)

     Former Loewy Institute researcher Dr. Nijenthan Rajendran, alongside Loewy Institute research colleague Dr. Charles Chemale Yurgel and Loewy Institute Director Professor Wojciech Misiolek–and in conjuction with Dr. Ricardo Alves de Sousa of University of Aveiro’s Center for Mechanical Technology and Automation–have published the article “Hot Forging Die Design Optimization Using FEM Analysis for Near-Net Forming of 18CrNiMo7-6 Steel Pinion Shaft” in Metals (13)4.

     The researchers worked alongside Forja Bahia Company and their engineering team in order to perform the experimental portion of the project; Ramon Medeiros contributed his expertise during the formation of the numerical modeling model.
